Our Team

As a team, we not only work together to provide you with the best possible service, but we also work closely with your other financial professionals (i.e., attorney and accountant) to coordinate your financial concerns.

The people who work at NEXUS Financial Network not only have the knowledge and experience to help you pursue your financial goals, but they also happen to be very nice individuals! Our staff is always ready to address your concerns, answer your questions, and put you at ease.

Richard C. Hildebrand, CFP®, AIF®

Richard (Dick) C. Hildebrand, CFP®™, AIF®, is principal and partner of NEXUS Financial Network, where he provides comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services to help individual and small business owners meet their financial goals.

Dick has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and specializes in investment management, retirement planning, and estate planning. He works closely with clients to establish investment objectives and asset allocation and monitors their investment program performance. In addition, he provides help to manage qualified retirement accounts, including profit-sharing, IRAs, 401(k)s, and TSAs.

Before joining NEXUS, Dick served as a personal and business financial planner for American Express Financial Advisors for 11 years.  A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 1988, he has been a member of the Registry of Financial Planning Practitioners since 1994. He is registered as an Investment Advisor Representative and a Principal and Branch Manager of NEXUS Financial Network. Dick holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 22, 24, 63, and 65 securities registrations, and has his health, accident, and life insurance licenses. He received a bachelor's degree in marketing/management from Pennsylvania State University in 1971.

Dick has resided in the same house in Wexford since 1978 with his wife of 45-plus years, Donna. Their three children are grown and have moved on to their own careers but still return home regularly. Fortunately, they are within a short flight or long car ride away, so Dick and Donna can spend time with a new granddaughter. A tennis player, but one whose game seems to have left him, Dick still enjoys tennis along with golf when he gets together with his eldest son. Dick enjoys going to the office but spends leisure time woodworking and oil painting, mostly of family members taken from old photos and now new ones of his granddaughter. He is active in various art groups in the area and has served on a number of boards, the latest being the North Hills Art Center. When in Florida, he enjoys long bike rides on the beach and ocean fishing.

David A. Eppley, CFP®

David Eppley, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional of 25 years, is a principal of and has been a partner at NEXUS for the past 15 years. As a CFP® professional, David helps families and small business owners manage and protect their wealth. He reviews tax returns; helps clients set up estate plans and retirement plans to save money on taxes; keeps track of insurance coverage and makes sure that clients have the right types and amounts; and makes investment recommendations for clients that will help them meet their long-term goals. Although he enjoys working with all kinds of people, David finds it particularly satisfying to help widows and divorced women transition through difficult times. At a time when they are in upheaval, David takes care of his clients, helping to simplify the financials and make their situations more manageable.

Prior to joining NEXUS Financial Network, David was a financial advisor for 10 years with American Express Financial Advisors. For several years, David authored a biweekly column in the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum called "$mart Choice$," which offered frank, practical information and guidance to motivate people to achieve their financial goals.

David graduated from the Max M. Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University in 1984 and was—and still is—a huge fan of the late Woody Hayes. To better help his clients, David undertook the in-depth coursework needed to become a CFP® professional, which only 20 percent of all financial planners hold.* He has his FINRA Series 6 and 7 securities registrations and is registered as an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.

David and his wife, Sue, have been married for 24 years and are the proud parents of Laura, a college senior at Duquesne University; and David, a sophomore at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School. Sue is active in the community, running the booster club and concession stand for David's football team. She also teaches business classes at Duquesne University and Robert Morris University. David and Sue are active members of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wexford, Pennsylvania, looking to help others in their spare time. He admits he doesn't golf much, but he is always looking for an excuse to head to the golf course. Known for his cooking, David often makes his favorite green lasagna Bolognese with béchamel sauce for family and friends. He is always searching for a great risotto recipe, if you have one.

Lynn Powdrell is a customer service representative for NEXUS Financial Network, where she provides customer service to clients and support to the financial professionals.

Lynn has 21 years of experience in the financial services industry and is a registered broker administrative assistant. She handles the administrative needs of clients, assists financial professionals with preparation for clients, and oversees the office. She loves the interaction with clients and truly enjoys helping them.

Before joining NEXUS, Lynn was an assistant at American Express Financial Advisors for six years. Lynn has also had experience as a supervisor in the trust department of a bank and as a teacher. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Miami University. She is married and has three children and two grandchildren. Spoiling her grandchildren and seeing more of this beautiful country and world are among her top priorities.

Wendy Porter

Administrative Assistant

Wendy Porter is an administrative assistant for NEXUS Financial Network, assisting Dave, Dick, and Lynn in the daily business operations.

Wendy's background includes quite a variety of careers, starting when she graduated from Duff's Business Institute with an associate's degree in court reporting. She took depositions and worked for Allegheny County courts for more than 18 years, taking verbatim records of all court trials and hearings. She retired from the courts to raise her three children, involving herself in volunteering for their school and helping with fund-raising. Once they reached middle school, she began her entrepreneurship and opened up coffee kiosks in several office buildings, which then grew into full-service cafés in medical office buildings. Learning something completely different gave Wendy great satisfaction; however, running and operating her own business took a lot of time. She sold the cafés but still runs one coffee kiosk in the Manheim Auto Auction in Cranberry. She enjoys the interaction with the customers there and enjoys meeting and getting to know all of our NEXUS clients.

Wendy has been married to her husband, Jim, for 22 years and has three children: Rebecca, who is a junior at Penn State; Sam, who is a freshman at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City: and Erin, who is a junior in high school at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic. Her passion in life, besides her involvement with her children and all their sporting activities, is helping others. Currently, she volunteers for the Wexford and Troy Hill food banks. She loves snow skiing at Seven Springs all winter long and going to Myrtle Beach in the summer, and she has recently become an RV owner so that she and her husband can travel and visit their children in college.
