David Eppley, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional of 25 years, is a principal of and has been a partner at NEXUS for the past 15 years. As a CFP® professional, David helps families and small business owners manage and protect their wealth. He reviews tax returns; helps clients set up estate plans and retirement plans to save money on taxes; keeps track of insurance coverage and makes sure that clients have the right types and amounts; and makes investment recommendations for clients that will help them meet their long-term goals. Although he enjoys working with all kinds of people, David finds it particularly satisfying to help widows and divorced women transition through difficult times. At a time when they are in upheaval, David takes care of his clients, helping to simplify the financials and make their situations more manageable.
Prior to joining NEXUS Financial Network, David was a financial advisor for 10 years with American Express Financial Advisors. For several years, David authored a biweekly column in the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum called "$mart Choice$," which offered frank, practical information and guidance to motivate people to achieve their financial goals.
David graduated from the Max M. Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University in 1984 and was—and still is—a huge fan of the late Woody Hayes. To better help his clients, David undertook the in-depth coursework needed to become a CFP® professional. He holds FINRA Series 6 and 7 securities registrations and is registered as an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.
David and his wife, Sue, have been married for 24 years and are the proud parents of Laura, a college senior at Duquesne University; and David, a sophomore at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School. Sue is active in the community, running the booster club and concession stand for David's football team. She also teaches business classes at Duquesne University and Robert Morris University. David and Sue are active members of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wexford, Pennsylvania, looking to help others in their spare time. He admits he doesn't golf much, but he is always looking for an excuse to head to the golf course. Known for his cooking, David often makes his favorite green lasagna Bolognese with béchamel sauce for family and friends. He is always searching for a great risotto recipe, if you have one.
